Marple's Portas Pilot Application

Mary PortasMarple has submitted an application to become a Portas Pilot that could see the town net up to £100,000 from the government to help improve the town centre.

The Marple Vision Partnership and Marple Business Forum have put together the bid which includes celebration of Marple’s heritage as well as making Marple a 21st century town that caters for the community and visitors.

As with any bid for government money there are certain criteria that have to be met and we have put together a plan that hopefully meets those criteria and the needs of Marple.

Local Charities Benefit from Marple Business Forum

Cheque PresentationSince 2008, the Marple Business Forum have raised and donated over £13,000 to various local charities and worthwhile causes. Through a variety of different events, including Race Nights, Sponsored Swimathon and Casino Nights, the members of the Marple Business Forum have been working tirelessly for the last 3 years to raise funds for good causes and local organisations that share the same goal of helping improve Marple.
